| Qualifications: Reporting directly to the Managing Editor and to the Editor-In-Chief: · Layout and edit local, national and international features, entertainment, news and sports stories. · Be responsible for posting local stories, photos and multimedia content to the winnipegsun.com website. · Knowledge of news, current events, sports and popular culture on a local, national and international scale is a must. · Demonstrated design capabilities. · Strong working knowledge of InDesign · Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop is an asset. · Minimum two years of desk experience. · Ability to function in a team atmosphere. · Ability to multitask and meet deadlines. · The ideal candidate should have a flair for compelling headlines, concise and accurate cutlines and eye-catching design. |

This multi-faceted position reports to the QMI Agency Toronto news editor and the position is based in Toronto. The successful candidate will, with training, locate and write interesting and important news stories to be used in newspapers and websites and other media platforms as part of a team of national content providers and editors. He or she must thrive in a high energy/high stress work environment. This position involves flexible scheduling, including working afternoons and evenings, as well as some weekends. |
